Community Guidelines
Effective: February 13, 2026
These guidelines keep Hoot safe and genuine. They apply to profiles, messages, Topics, photos, and all interactions. Violations may result in content removal, suspension, or permanent ban.
1. Be Genuine
- Use your real name and age.
- Your photos should be of you. No fake, celebrity, or AI-generated photos.
- No duplicate or fake accounts.
2. Be Respectful
- No harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation.
- No hate speech or discrimination based on race, gender, orientation, religion, or disability.
- No unsolicited sexual content.
- Respect boundaries. Persistent unwanted contact is harassment.
3. Keep It Safe
- Do not share others' private information without consent.
- Do not threaten violence or encourage harm.
- Report unsafe behavior immediately.
4. Topics Rules
- Anonymity is not a license to be harmful.
- Engage with ideas, not attacks on people.
- No spam, repetitive content, or advertising.
- No deliberate misinformation.
- Sensitive topics allowed if discussion stays civil.
5. Respect the Photo Reveal
- Do not share screenshots of blurred photos externally.
- Do not manipulate or bypass the reveal system.
- Do not pressure others to share photos outside the app.
6. No Spam or Commercial Activity
- No selling, promoting, or soliciting.
- No bots or automated tools.
7. Minors
Hoot is 18+. Content involving minors in sexual or exploitative contexts results in permanent ban and reporting to NCMEC and law enforcement.
8. Reporting
Report via the in-app feature or email info@ihootyou.com. Actions range from warnings to permanent termination.
