Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Hoot mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using Hoot, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old. We may request proof of age and will terminate underage accounts.

2. Account

Provide accurate information. Keep credentials secure. No multiple or shared accounts.

3. The Service

Hoot provides personality-based matching, pixelated photo reveal, messaging, voice messages, and Topics discussions. We may modify or discontinue features at any time.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service illegally or to harass, abuse, or threaten others.
• Post hateful, discriminatory, defamatory, or sexually explicit content.
• Impersonate others or misrepresent identity/age.
• Solicit money, spam, or promote commercial products.
• Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools.
• Circumvent the photo reveal system or security features.
• Collect user information without consent.

5. User Content

You own your content. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use it in connection with the Service.

6. Photo Reveal

The pixelated photo system is a core feature. Do not attempt to circumvent or manipulate it.

7. Topics

You are responsible for Topics posts whether public or anonymous. We may remove content violating these Terms or Community Guidelines.

8. Purchases

In-app purchases are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play. Non-refundable unless stated otherwise. Subscriptions auto-renew; cancel through your device settings.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, Hoot name, logo, and owl design are our property. Do not copy, modify, or reverse engineer.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS." WE DO NOT SCREEN USERS OR GUARANTEE COMPATIBILITY. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR INTERACTIONS.

11. Limitation of Liability

HOOT IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. TOTAL LIABILITY CAPPED AT $100 OR AMOUNT PAID IN PAST 12 MONTHS.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Hoot from claims arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

You may delete your account anytime. We may suspend or terminate accounts with or without cause.

14. Dispute Resolution

Disputes resolved through binding individual arbitration (AAA rules). Class action waiver applies.

15. Governing Law

Laws of the State of Delaware, United States.
